>>Tamarillo ceramics and design

At our wedding venue in the Cape, I once saw the most beautiful ceramics on display in their deli, and I finally found out today where they are from. Tamarillo is a small Cape Town based design studio specialising in ceramics, wooden decor, glass decanters and textiles. By using simple silhouettes of traditional South African iconography, the designer creates chic designs on local, hand-made, functional products.

I love their philosophy:
"We're not into the perfectly made or the mass produced - it's about high end true craft, slightly imperfect, timeless and originally designed..."
I must admit that I'm sort of a plain whites kind of gal, but I really appreciate the fine beauty and individual character of each piece that Tamarillo makes. I love the protea themed ice-tea set that is shown in the pic below, however, I think that I would rather use the set as a display piece in my kitchen. I think that the textile designs are also gorgeous, and I would seriously LOVE that protea cushion for our bedroom. Mmm, I think I might just buy it actually...

Do yourself a favour and check out the Tamarillo website, facebook page and blog. All the below images are from the Tamarillo website, but the facebook page and blog shows many other beautiful products that I didn't paste below. Some seriously pretty stuff, I promise:-)
